privacy policy

the short version

This site does not sell your data, does not require an account, and does not track you across other websites. We collect minimal anonymised usage data to understand how the site is used and improve it.

what we collect

No user accounts, no forms that submit data to a server. The tools on this site run entirely in your browser. Any data you type into a tool (prices, catalog IDs, connection settings, etc.) stays in your browser — it is never sent to our servers.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate, privacy-preserving traffic metrics (page views, visitor counts by country). Cloudflare does not use cookies or fingerprinting for this and data is anonymised.

We use Microsoft Clarity for session recordings and heatmaps. Clarity may collect mouse movements, clicks, and scroll patterns to help us understand how visitors use the tools. Clarity does not collect form values or passwords. Data is retained by Microsoft under Microsoft's privacy policy.

cookies

We do not set cookies ourselves. Microsoft Clarity may set a session cookie to associate activity within a single visit. No cross-site tracking cookies are used by this site.

local storage

Several features save state to your browser's localStorage. None of this data is transmitted to our servers.

• ecomtools-theme — your light/dark preference
• ecomtools-uid — an anonymous random ID used to associate your star ratings so you can update them later. Not linked to any personal data.
• ecomtools-votes — the ratings you've submitted (slug + star value), stored locally so the UI reflects your vote on return visits.
• occ-connection-* — OCC API Snippets connection config (host, site, client ID, token). Stays on your device.

star ratings & counters

Tool and resource star ratings are stored in Cloudflare KV as aggregate counts (sum + count per item). When you rate an item, we store only the star value alongside your anonymous UID — no IP address, no personal data. The footer terminal usage counter is a simple increment stored in the same KV store with no user data attached.

hosting

This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may collect basic request data (IP address, path, timestamp) as part of operating its network and providing DDoS protection. This is governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy.

third-party services

Analytics: Cloudflare Web Analytics (aggregate, no cookies) and Microsoft Clarity (session recordings). No Google Analytics, no advertising networks, no social widgets.
